Our founder Andrea has always had a genuine love for black wedding dresses (see photo for her podcast Bride or Die shoot*) and having organised the biggest alternative wedding fayre in Hampshire 3 years running (Alternative Wedding Network), she saw first hand how much of a need there is for high quality alternative wedding gowns for brides in the South of England.

Having previously owned a standard bridal store and loved it, she had a idea that kept nagging away at her… what if there was a boutique where all the samples to try on were black (but also came in ivory because sometimes being traditional is the most alternative thing you can do) and the boutique wasn’t all girly but crypt like and gothic?

And so became Onyx Bridal 🖤
